What Homeowners Are Saying

I was introduced to Carpetland by an employee at Floor and Decor, as they no longer stocked the specific product I required. Upon entering Carpetland, I was promptly assisted by Mr. Luke Anderson. He extended a warm welcome and proceeded to present their diverse product offerings. Mr. Anderson successfully matched or surpassed competitor pricing. Consequently, I procured my flooring, transitions, and three area rugs, two of which were acquired during an exceptional clearance event. This resulted in significant cost savings, and the rugs are both aesthetically pleasing and luxuriously soft. My home now exhibits a cohesive aesthetic, and I commend the Carpetland team for their invaluable assistance and their commitment to providing high-quality products.

My son went to get a piece of carpet for his dorm room and they gave it to him for free as they want to support students. Hands down such a nice thing to do. Gentlemen carried it out to the car and told my son good luck to you. This says a lot about a company!

My experience was great! I went into the store not knowing what I wanted and just an estimated measurement. I worked with Bill who was amazing and helpful. We chose a carpet and color and we also spoke about a ballpark price. He communicated well with me the whole time, they came out to measure and laid the carpet in exactly a week from when I first went in. The individual who measured my room and the people who laid the carpet were great too. Such a great experience and we love our new carpet!

Rick Adams at Carpetland on Emmet Street in Omaha answered all our questions and helped us make our decisions regarding new flooring. Jacob Surber Flooring, along with crew John and Rich, completed the installation in two days. Great people to work with and thrilled with their finished work.

I love the roll of scrap flooring I got here! It was cheap and durable enough for my 2 rabbits who try to eat everything. It makes their room look a lot nicer too. The sales staff was very helpful and polite. I'll go there again for sure.

I could not recommend Carpet Land any less. Communication was basically non existent, I had to CONSTANTLY call for updates as they wouldn't update me otherwise. If I could give zero stars, I would.
They pushed off initial install by 2 weeks because pieces were broken, even though the tile arrived at their store over a week before initial install date.
Once they did come to install (showed up at 4PM instead of 8AM like expected), they tore up out existing tile (almost the full 1st floor) and only then we found out we had the wrong tile. They claimed it was ordered correct but sent to them incorrect, when they should have checked that it was correct before sending it to my house and having someone rip up the floor.
While waiting for the correct tile (see pictures attached of how our house was left for over a week) I spoke to the owner, Mike, on the phone multiple times, each time he acted like I was bothering him and was very short. I couldn't get any sort of refund for this major mistake until I physically went to the store. The only reason they agreed to refund me (which I haven't seen deposited into my account in 2 weeks) was because their supplier gave them a discount. The only discount I received was an insulting 3% of our total cost! Mike completely refused to take responsibility for this mess. If my wife and I didn't notice it was the wrong tile, they would have installed it and then had to come back, tear out again, and install the correct stuff, so we basically saved them money. Even if you ordered it right, you should have some process to verify it's correct before sending it to the customer!
When tile did arrive, we found out after a day that they didn't order enough (even though they did come measure ahead of time), and we would have to wait even longer.
When the final batch of tile showed up, they dragged out the install process and only agreed to finish it in 2 days (they only had a couple hours of work to do the 2nd day) because I demanded they finished it immediately.
All in all, this was a 3 week disaster where we had no stove, our fridge was completely out of place, no toilet on our main floor because of this, and they had to come uninstall/reinstall our laundry 4 times due to different delays.
To cap it all off, on the last day, a couple of the workers stole a couple cans of pop from us! Yes it's only a couple cans of pop which cost $1 at most, but it's the principle of it. If I walked into a grocery store and grabbed a pop then left, wouldn't that be stealing?
Horrible HORRIBLE experience. They've lost a customer for life.

Where Laminate Works Best

Laminate flooring is a great fit for areas where you want the look of wood with easy day to day upkeep and dependable durability. It performs especially well in living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, and home offices, and many water resistant options also work well in kitchens and entryways. For bathrooms or spaces with frequent standing water, ask a Carpet Land flooring expert about the best waterproof options for that room.

The Flooring Layers

Laminate is the result of fusing a combination of wood-based materials, layered on top of one another in the shape of a plank or tile designed to look and feel like natural wood, stone or ceramic materials. The most common makeup includes four main layers:

  1. A surface wear layer for protection against most common forms of damage
  2. A photographic decorative layer featuring a wood or tile design
  3. A high-density core layer for strength & stability makes up most of the plank
  4. A bottom backing layer for balance, moisture protection and underlayment

Which is better: Hardwood or Laminate?

Hardwood has long been sought after for its beauty, durability, and the value it can add to a home. Nowadays, to help with the affordability of home construction and sales, waterproof laminate flooring is being substituted for wood’s warm, natural charm. At Carpet Land, we offer both options, which we recommend to different customers based on their specific needs. Here’s how these two types of flooring stack up against one another:

HARDWOOD

  • Made from natural, harvested trees
  • Scratches, moisture damage and wear are common, but add value & character
  • Can be refinished many times via sanding out imperfections

LAMINATE

  • Made from composite wood materials
  • Resists scratches, moisture and wear, all while being easy to clean
  • Snaps together easily for DIY projects

Styles of Laminate Flooring

Laminate is an affordable way to get the look of the wood or tile flooring you’ve been dreaming of. At Carpet Land, you’ll find a variety of plank and tile sizes and styles that look and feel just like natural wood, stone or ceramic tile, which can be installed with or without adhesive.

We offer smooth and hand-scraped wood textures in wide or thin planks, so you can make a statement with your new laminate floors!

Waterproof and Water Resistant Laminate, What to Know

Not all laminate is the same. Some laminate floors are built with water resistant protection, and some lines are designed to be waterproof for everyday spills when cleaned up promptly. The best choice depends on the room, the subfloor, and how much moisture the space is likely to see, and our team can help you compare options before you buy.

Laminate Floors Installation

To pick the right type of flooring for a room, it is important to understand how the room will be used. In many cases, homeowners use laminate floors for bedrooms and kitchens.
